Accountability in Performance

Performance is about accomplishing something. Adding employees to performance can present challenges if an employee is unmotivated, lacks focus due to personal problems, needs training or doesn’t have a clear picture of job expectations.

If any of these scenarios sound familiar, chances are you aren’t thrilledwith your current employee performance review process or you may not have one. Holding employees accountable and measuring performance is something we all know we “should” do, but may not because it’s time consuming and we think it does little to change employee behavior overall.

Learn how the employee performance review process is streamlined and impactful. It becomes simple for managers to agree upon goals and skills with the employee, which becomes a win-win situation. With clearly outlined goals, the process benefits BOTH the individual and the organization by creating happier, satisfied employees that are more productive.

ERISA Violation – Are You At Risk?

This year we have seen changes in the law, including the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). As a result, it seems like an appropriate time to revisit the requirements mandated under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).

Many employers do not fully understand ERISA, how it impacts business and employees, and the possible risks it presents. ERISA is a federal law that regulates employer sponsored benefits (also called “welfare benefit plans”). Besides requiring the provision of specific Plan features and funding information, the law mandates employers to submit detailed reports to the government. Are you in compliance?
